• Smaller Antennas: One of Ku-band’s advantages is that it requires smaller antennas, which are ideal for vessels like Purus Horizon, where space is limited.
• Cost-Effective: Ku-band VSAT is more affordable than higher-frequency systems, such as Ka-band, and offers a reliable solution for communication between vessels and shore offices.
• Weather Sensitivity: Although Ku-band is prone to weather disruptions like rain fade, it remains a robust backup to Starlink, ensuring continuous connectivity during harsh conditions.
